Join us for a special evening, with our guest Jim Sherraden of Nashville’s mythic Hatch Show Print, and the presentation of the AIGA Fellow and Local Legend awards.

Beginning at 6pm, join us for a members-only cocktail reception and a special display of the Graphis Annual Reports '07/'08 Show, which celebrates the most visually striking and effective Annual Reports of the last year, selected by an elite panel of AR Designers. Representing a broad spectrum of industries, these reports express clients’ accomplishments and goals with innovative design solutions.

Presentations will begin at 7pm.

Described as “a tonic for the information age,” Hatch Show Print is a wonderful amalgam of working letterpress print shop, tourist attraction, museum and historical archive. Mr. Sherraden promises a unique discussion of his letterpress work, which reexamines the aesthetic culture of American entertainment and revisits the curiously colorful world of  dancing girls, politics, and music. Sherraden is also the co-author of Hatch Show Print: The History of a Great American Poster Shop. Posters from Hatch Show Print will be available for purchase.

This year, we are excited to award the prestigious AIGA Fellow Award to Scott Gericke, principal, designlab, inc., and the Local Legend Award to Karen Handelman, principal, 501creative, inc., and to John Celuch, principal, Inlandesign in Edwardsville. Our honored guests will each give a brief presentation that highlights their contributions to our community, and to the profession of design.
