Ditto to the above. Even Ms. Gibbs' comment is not off-putting to me. After all, when did "rule-breaker" cease to be a high compliment? Janet Riehl

Working with Ria so far this summer has been a great experience and she has so much to teach and offer! I'm excited to hear her and Lewis speak and think they have much to offer on business success using social media. about LinkedIn and Twitter. I think it will be a great learning experience.

Ria is an extremely helpful expert on the power of blogging to promote and create a following for your "brand." Once established, this can be used as a springboard for your future books (etc) by leveraging it with publishers. This is what "monetizing" social media is about (words of Lewis Howes). As much as Lewis tweets, I've got to figure out how he's doing it. There are a wide variety of ways to capitalize on social media; we all have our preferences or techniques that work for us/our lives/brands. I'm looking forward to my second workshop with Ria & Lewis and picking up new techniques to capture leads for future (text) mobile marketing customers!

Thank you for your input, Tripp. Yes, I've made a conscious decision to use my personal Facebook account for my family and friends. But I do have a fan page for My Mommy Manual. And as you well know, everyone has different approaches on how to use Twitter. I can only share how I've achieved success with mine.

Looking at Ria's materials, I am concerned there may be better "teachers" as she violates many basic social networking pieces of advice I have heard at other conferences. For example, her Facebook is blocked unless I become her friend. Wrong. Her Tweets tend to be self focused and not valuable to an audience. Sorry but there is a lot out there advising people differently...and seemingly more practical.

I have attended Lewis's workshops; you will learn way more than expected, great value. Can't wait to learn more. Dianne

I continue to be wowed by Ria both personally and professionally -- her enthusiasm, her writing style, and her ability to "teach me to fish!" Ria has a great understanding of knowing where individuals are in their marketing game, and helping them get to the next level, on their terms. Can't wait to continue the conversation!

I went to the last Lewis Howes St. Louis event and it was VERY informative. As both a LinkedIn and Twitter user, I really look forward to hearing even more tips! Ria was at the previous workshop and briefly spoke. She's full of energy! Can't wait.

AIGA is all about connections, networking and communicating. If you want to stay relevant for your clients or your own business, this is a "must" for any designer and their client to attend...then tweet about.

Very cool AIGA STL! I am way excited to attend this workshop on LinkedIn and Twitter. I have not had the pleasure of meeting Lewis Howes but I have heard Ria Sharon speak and she is packed with information. Best of all, she speaks with such enthusiasm, humor and clarity she makes you wonder why you didn't start "tweeting" and blogging and using social media long ago. Excuse me, a feel a tweet coming on!
